Attending an Open Day in Canterbury is your chance to explore the campus, meet students, and discover the wide range of courses and opportunities available.

Whether you’re interested in A Levels, T Levels, or want to get a feel for student life, this guide will help you know what to expect at one of our Open Days, which includes:

Exploring the Campus and Facilities

When you attend an Open Day, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the entire campus.

Exploring the main campus means you’ll discover state-of-the-art facilities such as the Lanfranc Theatre, Sports Centre, and Learning Resource Centre (LRC). From classrooms to social spaces like the Refectory and the Hair and Beauty Salons, you’ll be able to picture yourself as a student here.

There are also guided tours of the Spring Lane Campus, with staff running these throughout the evening. the night. Expect to see something different on the specialist land-based site, with close-up looks at the wide range of 400+ animals from tortoises to meerkats to wallabies.

Hands-On Experiences and Interactive Demos

A highlight of the Open Day is the chance to take part in hands-on workshops and live demonstrations.

You could head to Engineering to see their advanced robots, or you could be testing your talents in Music with a wide range of instruments.

Lots of departments will offer a range of interactive activities on the night. Seeing how you could get involved in these demos will give you a taste of what life at EKC Canterbury College could be like for you.

Meeting the EKC Canterbury Sixth Form Team

If you’re considering A Levels, an Open Day gives you a chance to visit our dedicated Sixth Form area. Here, you’ll meet staff and students, ask about our A Level programmes, and explore the wide range of subjects on offer. It’s the perfect opportunity to see what makes EKC Canterbury Sixth Form unique and how it can help you achieve your academic goals and future progression options.

Hear directly from students

At an Open Day, you can chat with current students to get first-hand insights about life at the College. Students will be located in various departments showcasing their work, which is a great way to hear directly from those currently studying what you’re looking into.

You can meet our student ambassadors on the night who will guide you around the campus, and can help you find out what you’re looking for.

Lecturers and support staff will also be available throughout the evening to answer any questions you have about the courses or campus life.

Student Experience Officer Gina and Students’ Union President Niamh will be available to talk to you about the range of activities and events they host throughout the year, including the annual Drag Show and Freshers’ Fayre.

How do I attend an EKC Canterbury College Open Day?

Open Days at EKC Canterbury College take place throughout the year, typically in November, February, and April.

If you’d like to attend, make sure to pre-register on our events page so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore everything the College has to offer.

If you don’t pre-register, you can still turn up on the day, but you will have to sign up on arrival.
