The Salon and Spa
You will train in our industry-standard salon and spa, where you can work with professional equipment on real-life clients.
These will give you the experiences you need to make it in the industry, and put you above the competition.
Our salon and spa is open for appointments throughout the academic year.

EKC Canterbury College students take part in KFE4Skills Competition 2024

EKC Canterbury College students competed in KFE4SKILLS and showcased their skills in a range of different industries.
Practical Experiences
As well as working in our on-site salon and spa, our students also get lots of practical experiences outside the course, such as working on makeup looks for shows held in our Lanfranc theatre.
Skills Competitions
Throughout their course, all our Hair and Beauty students get the chance to take part in competitions, such as the KFE4Skills Awards.
Hair and Media Makeup student, Hannah won this year’s Gold Medal at the KFE contest for her Fashion and Photographic Makeup look.
Taught by Industry Professionals
Our students are taught by highly qualified tutors, many of whom have extensive industry experience.
Katrina Hobbs, Deputy Head of Professional Services, spent many years travelling the world with and teaching for the International Dermal Institute.
She is a firm believer that training and education is the key to success.

Students gain customer service skills whilst dealing with real clients and bookings.
Beauty Salons
Students have access to industry standard salons and equipment including beauty beds, steamers and spray tanning guns.
Hair Salon
Our hair salon is equipped with modern styling equipment, hair washing stations and leading products using within the industry.
Nail Bars
Learn the art of nail technology within our nail bar. Practice on dummy nails before applying the perfect manicure to clients.
Media Makeup Studio
Our purpose built makeup studio is equipped with a variety of make up and SFX products, along with a photography station, ready to capture high quality images of student work.
