At EKC Canterbury Spring Lane, we have a diverse range of animals, from reptiles to farm animals, that students can interact with and gain practical experience.
Cone-Headed Lizard
Our Lizards are Shaggy, Scooby, Velma, Freddy and Scrappy. The cone-headed lizard, also known as the helmeted iguana, is a fascinating reptile native to Central and South America. These lizards thrive in tropical rainforests, often found perched on trees and shrubs. Recognisable by their distinctive conical head shape, cone-headed lizards are well-adapted to their lush habitats.
Sedan Plated Lizard
This is Zazu a Sudan plated lizard species native to Africa. These lizards are commonly found in rocky regions and savannas. Known for their hardy nature and distinctive plated scales, Sudan plated lizards prefer a solitary lifestyle, making them unique inhabitants of their rugged environments
Desert Iguana
Meet Apollo the desert iguana, native to the United States and Mexico. These reptiles thrive in subtropical and tropical shrublands as well as desert environments, showcasing their unique adaptability to some of the harshest landscapes.
Bearded Dragon
Hades the bearded dragon is a popular lizard species native to Australia. These reptiles inhabit a variety of environments including deserts, shrublands, and woodlands. Recognised by their “beard” of spiny scales, bearded dragons are known for their calm demeanour and solitary nature, making them a favourite among reptile enthusiasts.
Leopard Gecko
Kat and Stacy the leopard geckos, is a captivating lizard species native to regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. These lizards thrive in rocky deserts and grasslands. Known for their distinct spotted appearance and gentle nature, leopard geckos are primarily nocturnal.
Spiny-Tailed Monitor
Darwin the spiny-tailed monitor is an intriguing lizard species native to Australia. These monitors prefer rocky outcrops and deserts. Characterised by their robust bodies and spiny tails, these solitary reptiles are well-adapted to their harsh environments.
Starred Agama
Inky is currently living with five other starred agamas, after successfully being hatched on site in 2020. They are a striking lizard species native to South Asia. These reptiles are typically found in rocky and arid habitats. Recognised by their vibrant colours and distinctive star-like markings, adapting well to the challenging conditions of their environment.
Blue Tongued Skink
Merlin is a firm favourite amongst the team due to his chilled-out nature and loving temperament. They are native to Australia and New Guinea. These skinks inhabit a variety of environments including forests, grasslands, and deserts. Known for their distinctive blue tongues and docile nature, blue-tongued skinks are solitary reptiles that prefer to live alone.
Ferret
This is Seamus one of our male Ferrets. He lives with Remus, Cedric and Viktor in their own bachelor pad. Ferrets are small, domesticated mammals that are descendants of the European polecat. Found worldwide, they thrive in human-altered environments. Known for their playful and inquisitive nature, ferrets are social animals that enjoy the company of their owners and other ferrets, making them popular pets.
Chickens
Our free roam chickens are Braveheart, Mississippi and Topsy. Chickens are versatile and domesticated birds found all over the world, originally descended from wild jungle fowl in Southeast Asia. These adaptable birds thrive in diverse environments, from small backyard coops to large-scale farms. Known for their social behaviour and distinct pecking order, chickens live in flocks and are valuable and beloved members of many households.
Pygmy Goats
Goats are versatile and hardy animals domesticated from wild ancestors in the Middle East. They are found globally, thriving in diverse environments from mountains to deserts. Known for their curious and independent nature, goats are social animals that often live in herds, providing milk and meat to human societies.
Ouessant sheep
Ouessant sheep are a rare and small breed native to the island of Ouessant off the coast of France. These hardy sheep thrive in the rugged, maritime environment of their homeland. Bennett’s Wallabies

The Bennett’s wallaby, also known as Red Neck Wallabies is the largest wallaby species.
Guinea pigs (Smooth coated)
Eddie and Clover seen here share their home with Cinnamon and Cranberry. They are small, sociable rodents originally from the Andes region of South America. These friendly and vocal creatures thrive in a variety of habitats, often kept as beloved pets in homes worldwide.
Dwarf Lop Mix rabbit
