UAL Level 3 Diploma in Dance

This course is suitable for students who have completed the Level 2 qualification or have an impressive portfolio of work. You should also have achieved a 4/C grade in English and Maths.

Once your application is submitted, you will be invited in to attend an application day in which you will be required to complete an audition to show us your practical and creative skills. This helps us to determine the right course for you.

You will be assessed through a combination of written assignments and practical evaluations, including group projects and live performances.

You will develop a portfolio of work during the course which is created to aid assessment and your future.

During this course, you will build a strong portfolio that reflects your personal style as a dancer, and you will finish a confident performer. This will prepare you for your next steps in the creative sector.

Many of our learners have enrolled at university or entered the industry after completing their course.

One on our Level 3 learners, Archie, headed to the specialist dance school, Northern Contemporary Dance. He commented: “My favourite part of College has been the shows; we get to perform at least three times a year and do lots of choreography. That’s something I’m interested in pursuing after college.”

“The teachers have been phenomenal, and I’ve loved getting to see all the choreography and performances. I’ve also made so many friends; it’s been an amazing experience.”

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

On this course, you’ll work with industry experts on creative projects and gain hands-on experience within the performing arts industry. Our links with local theatres, such as the Marlowe Theatre, mean that you can develop the skills you need to succeed.

You can look forward to performing in a variety of internal and external events, such as local performance festivals and providing entertaining during College events, such as our annual end of year show.

You can also look forward to being taught by experts working in the industry during guest speaker workshops. These are a unique opportunity to build your professional connections and get a taste of what it is really like to work in the industry.

You will also be encouraged to take part in local and national skills competitions. These competitions put your production and performance skill to the test whist helping you feel more confident working in a new environment.
