Level 3 Diploma in Acting (Marlowe Academy of Performing Arts)

This course is suitable for students who have completed the Level 2 qualification or have an impressive portfolio of work. You should also have achieved a 4/C grade in English and Maths.

Prior acting experience is not essential. We value enthusiasm, curiosity, and a strong commitment to training. Entry is through an audition and interview process designed to help us get to know each applicant’s potential and passion for the craft.

You will be assessed through a combination of written assignments and practical evaluations, including group projects and live performances.

You will develop a portfolio of work during the course which is created to aid assessment and your future.

During this course, you will build a strong portfolio that reflects your personal style as an actor, and you will finish a confident performer. This will prepare you for your next steps in the creative sector.

Many of our learners have enrolled at drama school, higher education, or entering the creative industries directly.

You’ll benefit from regular workshops, masterclasses, and mentoring sessions with working professionals, as well as opportunities to participate in live performances, work placements, and collaborative projects.

This immersive approach ensures that every student leaves with the confidence, skills, and industry insight needed to take the next step in their journey, whether that’s drama school, higher education, or entering the creative industries directly.

You can look forward to performing in a variety of internal and external events, such as shows at the Marlowe Theatre and performances at EKC Canterbury Colleges in-house theatre.

You will also be encouraged to take part in local and national skills competitions. These competitions put your production and performance skill to the test whist helping you feel more confident working in a new environment.

You do not need previous acting experience to apply, but ability and suitability for this course is determined through an audition process. More information about this will be given at the application stage.
