LEAP Entry 3

Course overview

Our ‘LEAP’ courses prepare students with the skills and expertise that they need to leap into vocational studies in the wider College.

Studying with us means all learners experience College life whilst building confidence and gaining the skills and qualifications required for their progression.

There’s also a one day a week work placement that supports growth in a real working environment.

Learning is tailored to the individual, with personalised targets and structured support that enable students to progress towards further study.

Course information

Our ‘LEAP’ courses focus on a curriculum which gives learners the skills they need for further study.

The curriculum’s focuses include:
• Preparation for work
• Independent living skills
• Teaching to improve Maths
• Teaching to improve English

Students also undertake a work experience placement one day per week, either in College or with an external partner.

All placements help to develop teamwork, communication and employability skills, in addition to exploring which areas the learner would like to go into.

Once a term we set new individualised targets to monitor and review progress in all areas.
