On Thursday 22 August, students at EKC Canterbury Junior College collected their GCSE and Level 2 results.
EKC Canterbury Junior College offers an exciting and practical curriculum for those aged 14-16 specialising in land-based studies. Learners work towards a Level 2 Diploma in Countryside and Environment alongside gaining essential GCSEs in English, Maths and Biology.
We caught up with some of our students to congratulate them on their success and find out where they are heading next.
Tiernan Dean, Level 2 Diploma in Countryside and Environment, GCSE Biology, GCSE English and GCSE Maths
“I really enjoyed Junior College. It’s a more mature environment and I liked the smaller class sizes. When you’re in a smaller class, your voice gets heard, and the teachers really helped me.”
“I focused a lot on my Maths this year. I put everything into it and I’m happy with my result.”
“I’m looking forward to starting my Carpentry Apprenticeship at the College. My dad’s a Carpenter and I’ve been helping him out since I was nine. I love being on the tools – I’m excited to get started.
“I would definitely recommend going to the Junior College. Just go for it.”
Amber Baskerville, Level 2 Diploma in Countryside and Environment, GCSE Biology, GCSE English and GCSE Maths
“I started at Broadstairs Junior College before moving to Canterbury. I like the opportunities here at Canterbury Junior College – there’s a good range of subjects. I like the campus and being with the animals. I would recommend studying here.
“I’m starting a course in Applied Science, and then I hope to go onto Veterinary studies.”
