T Level TQ in Health

Course overview


This T level healthcare course combines academic study with hands-on
learning.


Students gain foundational knowledge in areas like cell biology, infection
control, person-centred care, and the basic skills in the healthcare sector,
before specialising in Year Two. The programme is designed to develop practical,
transferable skills for careers in healthcare through applied experience and
specialist training.


During the two-year programme, you will gain the skills and knowledge needed
to build a career in the health industry. You will also complete an exciting
45-day work placement with a local employer.


T Levels are designed for students aged 16–19 and are equivalent to three A
levels.

Course information


This T Level TQ in Health combines classroom-based learning with hands-on
experience, including a 45-day industry placement with a local employer to
develop professional skills.


In Year One, you will study core topics including:



  • Core science (cells, tissues, large molecules, genetics, microbiology and
    immunology)

  • Providing person-centred care

  • Infection prevention and control

  • Supporting health and wellbeing

  • Understanding the healthcare sector

In Year Two, you will choose an occupational specialism:



  • Adult Nursing

  • Care of Children and Young People

  • Mental Health

During Year Two, you will deepen your knowledge and develop the practical
skills needed to complete your specialist project.


In your work experience, you will develop transferrable technical and
practical skills based on the knowledge gained in college. This gives you
opportunity to use your skills in a realistic working environment.
