Level 3 Diploma in Uniformed Public Services

This study programme is designed to help you move quickly toward advanced jobs, higher education, or apprenticeship opportunities if you know what you want to do next and meet the entry requirements needed for success.

Achieving a Level 3 qualification will improve your future earning potential and career choices. It also allows you to progress to Higher Education, Higher Apprenticeships, and Degree Apprenticeships. These can lead to roles like advanced technician or skilled supervisor at Level 3, and eventually to management or professional status as you continue your studies.

To study at Level 3, including all T Level and A Level programmes, you will need an average entry score of 5.0 from your best 6 GCSE subjects, ideally including English and Maths.

Assessment takes place through practical work, presentations and observations, as well as through written assignments and case study sessions.

Once you finish your course, you will be ready to start a career in a range of public services. These include the armed forces, fire service, prison service, border force and the police as examples.

You can also go onto further study in this area, such as in university and other higher education providers.

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

Dedicated Work Experience opportunities are supported by our Industry Liaison Officer, who finds placements that will suit you and your skillset. This is an integral part of the Level 3 course.

Throughout your studies, you will also take part in a variety of trips and activities, including meeting public service professionals, visiting external agencies and joining residential trips with the military.

We benefit our community by taking part in social action projects which help with development and skill progression, as well as making a difference locally.

Due to the nature of our Public Services course, we run a one-day Interview Day which all applicants must attend. The interview day will test your suitability for the course against aspects of the Public Services industry and give you an insight into student life.

After successfully completing the interview day, you will be invited to enrol.

You may be required to pay for uniform and a trips fund so that you can get the most out of this course. Additional details and full costs can be discussed at interview.
