Level 3 Diploma in Film and TV

To study at Level 3, you will need an average entry score of 5.0 from your best 6 GCSE subjects, ideally including English and Maths.

This study programme is designed to help you move quickly toward advanced jobs, higher education, or apprenticeship opportunities if you know what you want to do next and meet the entry requirements needed for success.

Achieving a Level 3 qualification will improve your future earning potential and career choices. It also allows you to progress to Higher Education, Higher Apprenticeships, and Degree Apprenticeships. These can lead to roles like Advanced Technician or Skilled Supervisor at Level 3, and eventually to management or professional status as you continue your studies.

You will learn through practical lessons in our range of studios and be assessed through multiple projects that will build your creative skills.

You’ll build an impressive portfolio throughout the course, developing your work across practical projects, written assignments and collaborative productions. Each project gives you the chance to experiment, refine your skills and create content that reflects real industry standards.

At the end of the course, you will also complete a Final Major Project. this is your opportunity to take creative control and develop a project you’re passionate about. You will be tasked with producing a standout piece of work that showcases your skills, ideas and readiness for the next step in your creative journey.

By the end of your course, you’ll be well-prepared to venture into the world of film and TV.

A diverse range of progression paths will be open to you such as a degree, high-level apprenticeship or an entry level role in the creative industry.

Many of our Level 3 learners are now working within the creative sector.

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

During the course you will have the chance to take part in lots of exciting trips and projects. From showcasing your work as part of our annual charity festival (BitCrush) to featuring in the College’s end of year exhibition, there’s always opportunities for you to show off your work to your peers and industry professionals.

We organise and join in on many local media projects, which help grow your skills and enhance your learning outside of the classroom. And you will take part in a variety of trips and expert talks, where you will meet people from the industry who can help you grow your skillset and your network.

Dedicated Work Experience opportunities will be supported by our Industry Liaison Officer, who will find additional opportunities that are right for you.

Media Facilities include:
• Mac computer suites
• Photography studio
• Industry standard recording studio

All these facilities are available for you to use anytime during your studies.
