Level 2 Extended Certificate in Travel and Tourism

The assessments are all designed to test your knowledge of the Travel sector and to ensure you’re ready for your next steps.

Alongside your timetabled lessons, you’ll complete independent study activities such as research projects, helping you deepen your knowledge and stay on track for success.

Your final grade will be calculated with a series of unique group projects, coursework across the year, and an exam.

After completing a Level 2 course, students often progress onto further study in Travel.

You could also start a focused apprenticeship, with many companies across the globe offering opportunities to train with them.

Entry level roles in the sector are also available for you to kickstart your career.

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

As part of the course you will attend a unique ‘Air Cabin Training’ trip, going behind the scenes with companies such as British Airways.

Thanks to funding from the Turing Scheme, you could also travel the world during your studies. Previous students have spent up to three weeks abroad in destinations such as Lisbon and Tenerife, exploring local culture while working alongside nearby business and travel environments.

Your learning is further enhanced with Sea Survival training at the nearby Maritime Skills Academy, where you’ll develop safety knowledge and take part in practical challenges designed to test and strengthen teamwork, resilience and communication skills.

All of these trips and experiences help bring your studies to life, giving you valuable insight into the Travel and Tourism industry while helping you decide which career path is right for you.

As English and Maths are a key part of the course, you can learn these to GCSE or Functional Skills level alongside your studies.
