Course overview

The countryside and land-based sector is wide-ranging, practical and essential to managing and protecting the environments around us, and this Level 2 course is designed to help you become part of it.

If you enjoy working outdoors and are interested in how land, habitats and rural environments are managed and maintained, this course will give you the skills and confidence to take your first steps into the industry.

You will also benefit from access to our Spring Lane Campus, where you can develop practical skills and gain insight into land-based and environmental work within a realistic working environment.

Alongside this, you will build key skills in teamwork, communication and independent working, preparing you for progression into further study or employment within the land-based sector.

Course information

On our Level 2 course, you will build the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to begin a career in the land-based and environmental sector.

You will learn how countryside environments are managed, protected and improved, while developing an understanding of the science and practical techniques that support land use and conservation.

You will also develop key transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving, helping prepare you for progression into further study or employment within the sector.

This includes working in environments such as greenhouses, ponds and orchards, helping you build confidence and applying your skills practically.
