IMI Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles
Course overview
Course information
The course is designed for those who want to work in Main Dealerships as
Technicians and those who want to be Master Technicians. It is also the pathway
for those who want to go on to University.
The technical route to University is chosen by many who wish to gain a
head-start over those who only have ?A? levels and no technical knowledge.
This Qualification exceeds the technical requirements for the modern
apprenticeship framework at level 3, so those who choose to go onto an
apprenticeship, only need to complete practical aspects at work. This cuts down
the amount of time required to complete an apprenticeship.
You need to have the Level 2 extended Diploma to join this course and the
drive and determination to succeed.
You will learn how to analyse and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical
faults, inspection and service of vehicle systems and how to fix those faults.
You will build on your knowledge and experience gained in the first year and
study more advanced electronics.
