City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Makeup

All assessments are designed to showcase your practical skills and to ensure you’re ready for your next steps in the hair and beauty industries.

You’ll mainly be assessed with practical observations in our commercial salons, alongside written tasks and exams that check your understanding of professional techniques.

After completing this Level 2 course, many students choose to progress onto further study in Hair and Beauty.

Your options include moving onto our Level 3 courses, designed so you refine your skills and work towards higher-level roles within the industry.

You may also decide to begin an apprenticeship or step straight into an entry-level salon position with a local business.

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

From taking part in salon events to visiting major industry expos such as Salon International, you’ll experience a range of trips and opportunities that deepen your understanding of the beauty world.

You can elevate your skills by taking part in masterclasses with brands such as Krylon, Bobbi Brown and MAC Cosmetics, alongside trips to professional beauty environments.

By getting involved in events and working with local partners, you’ll begin to discover which area of the beauty industry suits your interests and strengths.

You’ll also be further prepared for your next steps by taking part in social action projects across the campus during Community Weeks. Not only do these boost your personal growth, but you’ll also give back and impact Canterbury for the better.
