Access to Higher Education: Veterinary Science and Zoology

Assessment will be through completing reports, presentations and exams. You will also be assessed on your key transferable skills such as maths and English. You will complete an extended scientific project to support you with developing your research skills in preparation for university.

The Access to HE Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification that enables you to gain entry to university. On successful completion of the course, you can progress onto a degree in Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Science, Veterinary Nursing and other Animal Science related degrees.

If you are aged 19 or above, you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan.

The loan for your Access to HE course will be written off by Student Finance England upon completion of your degree at university.

You will complete a work experience placement in a local veterinary practice to support your application to university. Dedicated Work Experience opportunities will be supported by our Industry Liaison Officer, who will find opportunities that are right for you.
