City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing

All assessments are designed to ensure you can demonstrate your practical ability and understanding of professional hairdressing techniques.

You’ll be assessed with practical observations in our salons, alongside written assignments and online tests that check your knowledge and understanding.

Throughout the course, you’ll also build a portfolio of your work, giving you a visual record of your progress and achievements that you can use for future opportunities.

After completing this Level 2 course, you’ll be ready to begin working in an entry-level position within the hair and beauty industry.

You may also choose to progress onto further study, such as a Level 3 qualification, or move into an apprenticeship to continue developing your skills in a real working environment.

From taking part in College events to visiting major industry expos such as Salon International, you’ll experience a range of trips and opportunities that deepen your understanding of hairdressing.

You’ll also begin to discover which area of the hair and beauty industry suits your interests and strengths, by getting involved in events and working with local partners.

There’s also the opportunity to take part in social action projects across the campus during our Community Weeks. These activities not only boost your personal growth, but are an opportunity to give back and impact Canterbury for the better.

Our students have offered everything from introductory hairdressing workshops for children, to luxury treatments such as professional cuts for the staff and women who access the Rising Sun Domestic Abuse Charity.
