Level 2 Diploma in Games Design, AI, and Robotics

I have at least four GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including Maths and English, and I know what I want to be.

You will be assessed through multiple projects that will build your creative skills. You will develop and workshop ideas during group projects, presentations and written assignments, whilst also showcasing the skills you’ve learnt within practical production work.

You’ll build an impressive portfolio throughout the course, with each project giving you the chance to experiment, refine your skills and create games that meet real industry standards.

This is a highly supportive course, designed to guide your progress with clear, practical advice so you can continue building the skills and confidence to progress onto the Level 3 programme, or other higher-level courses.

This course is designed to prepare you for your next step.

After completing Level 2, you can progress onto a Level 3 course in Games Design or a specialist creative subject, where you’ll develop more advanced skills and begin shaping your career direction.

You could also go on to explore specialisms in areas such as:
• Games designer
• 3D artist
• Concept artist
• Level designer
• Game developer
• Interactive media designer

You may also decide to step straight into an entry-level job or freelance in the creative sector. Entry-level roles could include studio assistant, photographer or junior designer.

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

During the course you will have the chance to take part in lots of exciting trips and projects. From showcasing your work as part of our annual charity festival (BitCrush) to featuring in the College’s end of year exhibition, there’s always opportunities for you to show off your work to your peers and industry professionals.

Gain behind-the-scenes experience of how the games industry works as you take part in exciting industry trips and projects throughout the year. You’ll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a range of professionals as you build confidence and your own artistic style. And gain a front row seat to a range of exciting expert talks, where you will meet people from the industry who can help you grow your skillset and your network.

You will also be encouraged to show off your design talents during exciting skills competitions where your artwork will be seen and judged by top industry professionals.

Additional Work Experience projects will be supported by our Industry Liaison Officer, who will find exciting opportunities that are right for you and your interests.

This is a one-year course designed to help you build skills, confidence and a strong creative foundation.

You’ll be supported throughout your learning, with clear guidance on how to develop your work and prepare for progression onto Level 3 and beyond.
