College Life

College_LifeAs a student at Canterbury College there is a huge range of things you can get involved with to fit around your studies.

Student Union

We have a great Student’s Union with elected officers who meet with the college to get your views across.

Canterbury College Students’ Union wins national NUS and LSIS awards

Trips and Activities

We also have a huge range of activities with over 60 trips a year to all the best gigs, comedians, sports events and theatre shows. We're currently taking bookings on these trips.  These are all subsidised by the college and most of the time transport is included in the discounted prices. There are also loads of clubs and societies for you to join so make sure you have a look round and see what takes your fancy.

Friendly Advice

banner1_120x600_v3-1.gifStarting at College can be quiet scary, but remember everyone is in the same boat and the staff are here to help you and ensure you ‘feel at home’ and ‘fit in’. If you have problems don’t be afraid to ask someone for a bit of help. The way you are taught can be very different to school and it may take a while for you to get used to it but if you need help, it is there!  The Student Information Centre offers lots of help.

The college has a lot of staff who can advise you on money issues, help with you college work or if you have a disability of any kind. Should you need it, there is a small onsite Childcare Centre for children over two and there are many other things, - cafés, refectories, library, computer suites, students’ union, a sports centre and careers advice – which you can dip into at a time to suit you.
