Fabrication & Welding Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3
This course is ideal if you are working as a fabricator or welder and wish to improve your skills and knowledge. Level 3 will build on existing knowledge and develop advanced skills in machining, electrical and welding.
What will I learn?
The engineering sector has a long tradition of offering apprenticeship frameworks as a means of meeting the skills requirements for its sector. The framework has kept pace with technological change within each of the subsectors and remains highly relevant to their skills training needs. The framework has been designed to address the skills gaps and shortages identified above, and address the issue of an ageing workforce by attracting young people into the engineering industry and providing them with the skills, knowledge and experience which employers are seeking. In addition the Apprenticeship provides a progression route that the existing workforce can use to up-skill themselves to meet the technical, economic and environmental changes.
How will I be assessed?
The qualification is assessed by a portfolio of assessment, verbal or written questioning, witness testimony and assessor observations. Performance evidence must be the main form of evidence gathered. In order to demonstrate consistent competent performance for a unit, a minimum of three different examples of performance of the unit activity will be required.
What may it lead to?
The completion of this qualification provides a base for progression to Level 3 qualifications.
To enrol you need to be aged 16 and over and we do require at least 2 GCSE at grade C or above preferably in English and Maths and Level 2 in Fabrication and Welding.
