The world of performing arts is an exciting and inspiring place to build a career. Whether you want to be singing, dancing or acting on stage or doing set design, lighting or sound backstage, we have a range of courses for you.
Many of our lecturers have worked in the performing arts industry. They will help you develop professional knowledge and skills valued by universities, theatre schools and employers.
You will become a member of the Lanfranc Theatre Company and have the opportunity to produce performance work for real clients from the industry. This will improve your career prospects by providing you with essential live performance experience. You will also receive guidance with preparation for auditions and interviews.
Teaching takes place in two theatres – the larger Lanfranc Theatre (seating an audience of 150) and the smaller Studio Theatre – and several Drama & Dance studios, the Scenic Workshop and the Costume Workshop. All are equipped to an exceptionally high standard, enabling you to create professional-standard public performances either on stage or backstage.
You will benefit from a Study Programme designed to prepare you for Higher Education and working in the industry. You will take part in theatre productions, industry-related learning, one-to-one tutorials, and enrichment activities, while also continuing to study maths and English.
”I get a lot of opportunities sing and act. One of the reasons I came to College was the facilities; the theatre, the costume room, dance studios and rehearsal spaces.“
