The programme includes the following modules: Analytical Methods, Product Design Applications, Applied Science and Systems Technology, Electrical and Electronic Principles, Work Based Learning, Microprocessors, Electronics Applications, Control Systems and Automation, Digital and Analogue Devices and Circuits.Entry Requirements:
Applicants must have at least one of the following: 1 A level/Advanced GCE or 2 AS levels in Maths, Physics, IT or Design Technology (for AS entry these must be at Grade B or above, with at least one in Maths or Physics) plus 5 GCSEs at C or above including Maths and English; a BTEC National Diploma preferably in Design, IT or equivalent. Foundation Degree assessment is by a mixture of coursework, project work, examinations and work-based assignments.Progression:
The programme equips students for Technician Engineering roles in areas such as computer systems development, industrial electronics and communications engineering or progression to a Bachelor's degree. This qualifi cation may be used as a pathway to registration with the Institution of Incorporated Engineers in Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and the Institution of Measurement and Control.
