These are vocational based HNDs providing students with a thorough grounding in key concepts and practical skills needed for anyone preparing for a career in today's business environment. The programmes offer students the opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding of the principles of a specialist area of business (Human Resource Management, Marketing, Law, Finance or Retail).
Course Content:
General business modules will be taught with the group as a whole, allowing students the opportunity to exchange views and ideas with a more diverse group of students. Students will then split into their relevant chosen path for the specialist modules allowing for a more focused and in depth consideration of their chosen fi eld. There are fi ve core modules in year one and three core modules in year two. Students may change their selected pathway for year two if appropriate. The Year 1 programme includes the following modules: Marketing, Management Accounting, Managing Financial Resources and Decisions, Organisations and Behaviour, Business Environment, Plus two of the following: Common Law, Human Resource Management, Marketing: Marketing Intelligence, Market Planning Course content - Year 2 Five optional modules plus three core modules to suit your pathway: Business Decision Making, Business Strategy, Research ProjectsEntry Requirements:
Applicants must have at least one of the following: 1 A level/Advanced GCE or a BTEC National Diploma or equivalent. Applications are also welcomed from students with Access qualifi cations or from mature students with relevant experience in the business sector Entry requirements are subject to change, for the latest information please refer to the Canterbury College website.Assessment:
Continuous through coursework including written assignments, presentations and limited exams.Progression:
Students who successfully complete the programme may progress to a part time BA (Hons) Business top-up at Canterbury College.
