English for Academic Purposes and Exam Preparation

A one year full time course for those who would like to improve their command of the English language in preparation for further academic study in the UK. A total of 450 hours teaching is offered over 15 hours per week. Students within the group will receive individual attention from experienced teachers.
Course Content:
You will practice writing essays, reading and understanding texts, listening to academic classes, discussing topical issues and taking notes. A Canterbury College Certificate will be issued to all successful candidates, and you will be offered preparation for one of three globally recognised external exams. External examinations can be taken locally at an additional cost to achieve a UKBA recognised qualification. IELTS is an internationally recognised English language test which is widely accepted by UK Universities and colleges. Pearson Test of Academic English is the computer based test specifically designed for people wishing to study in the UK. Cambridge First Certificate of English is one of the most widely recognised exams, and it will help you prepare for life and employment in an English speaking environment.
