Independent Advocacy Certificate - Level 3


The Certificate in Independent is for anyone whose job involves independent advocacy support. In independent advocacy, you act as a voice for older people, people with disabilities or anyone else who needs support to make their own choices and have their needs respected. The course is designed to help students learn more about how to represent an individual's interests and how to support them to interact with other individuals, organisations and agencies.


What will I learn?

The course covers a numbers of units, including: Purpose and principles of independant advocacy, Providing independant support ,maintain independant advocay relationships, responding to advocacy needs of different groups of people.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence with independant assessment

What may it lead to?

Students can progerss onto further courses such as team leader in management.

Entry Requirements:

Students are required to have Entry Level 1 Literacy and subject to an interview.

Additional Information & Other Costs:

Students must be working with vulnerable adults or young people.
