The Theory & Practice of Counselling Diploma - Level 4


For those who wish to qualify as a counsellor. You must have completed the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling. This progression will meet BACP accreditation requirements once you have completed the required supervised practice.


What will I learn?

The course is offered in 2 alternative approaches: humanistic or integrative. Course units include: Professional and Organisational Issues , Counselling in a Diverse Society, Counselling Theory, Advanced Counselling Skills, Self-Awareness, Counselling Specialisms and Counselling Placement

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is made through written essays, personal statements, verbal presentation and a placement study, two case studies and a supervisor's report and a statement of learning.

What may it lead to?

Entry Requirements:

Applicants for the diploma will be required to apply for a CRB disclosure, which the student may need to pay for. Subject to interview.

Additional Information & Other Costs:

This course requires a placement of 100 hours of supervised counselling.
