Counselling Concepts ABC Certificate - Level 2


Canterbury College offers courses in skills and Counselling diplomas validated by the Awarding Body Consortium. (ABC) Anyone who wants a taster course, or to learn some skills for everyday life can start with Level 2 Certificate in Concepts.


What will I learn?

This course is designed for those who are working with people of all ages. It would support you with communication skills, help you in relationships, give you a level 2 qualification and give you credits towards level 3 in skill. This could also be the start of a personal journey for you to learn about yourself. This course comprises of three units: Unit 1 An appreciation of the Basics of Counselling, the Professional Context and Relationship. Unit 2 An introduction to the Skills used a Counsellor. Unit 3 An introduction to Personal Development

How will I be assessed?

This course is assessed through the writing of a course journal (guideline 500 words per week) and a 1500 word piece on personal development. This is internally assessed.

What may it lead to?

Progression is onto the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills.

Entry Requirements:

All of our courses require an interview, to ensure that you understand the nature of the courses and that you are applying at the correct level. Further up the progression the interview also seeks to ensure that you are personally ready for the often-demanding process of counselling training.

Additional Information & Other Costs:

This course runs for 12 weeks and is taught for 2.5 hours per week. This course will give you 30 hours of CPD. Courses run on either Tues afternoon (1600-1830) or Thursday (1700-1930). PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO CONCESSIONS ON THIS COURSE, THE FULL AMOUNT MUST BE PAID BEFORE THE START OF THE COURSE.
