Health & Social Care BTEC Diploma - Level 2


This course provides a solid foundation for both vocational practice and academic progression.


What will I learn?

Communication and individual rights within the health and social care sectors, individual need, human lifespan development, vocational experience in a health & social care setting, the impact of diet on health, equality, diversity & rights and functional skills.

How will I be assessed?

Through written assignments, presentations or role plays. To a large extent, they involve relating theory to practice. This means that they are not done under exam conditions.

What may it lead to?

Onto Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma, Work-Based Diploma Level 2/3 in care, or employment in a range of care settings.

Entry Requirements:

4 GCSEs at grade D or above (including English and preferably Science), a successful interview, good reference and CRB Check.

Additional Information & Other Costs:

You will be expected to complete 60 hours of mandatory work placement over the course of the year in health and social care settings such as hospitals, residential homes etc. This will provide you with an insight into working with different client groups.
