Health & Social Care BTEC Diploma - Level 1


This course will provide you with an introduction to health and social care and allow you to develop the personal skills, attributes and confi dence to be successful.


What will I learn?

22-units covering aspects of starting work in health and social care environments and personal and social development. functional skills in English, Maths and ICT are also covered.

How will I be assessed?

By a portfolio of evidence and exams for functional skills.

What may it lead to?

Progression to Level 2 will require a strong portfolio of evidence in all units, satisfactory work placement and tutor reports, and achievement in all 3 functional skills. Students wishing to progress to Level 2 will also attend an interview.

Entry Requirements:

Interview, reference and CRB check. Students will also have an initial diagnostic test for English at interview.

Additional Information & Other Costs:

Work experience will include practical work placements.

There will also be additional costs for a T shirt and trips.
