Support with Learning

We welcome people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities at Canterbury College. Our Additional Learning Support team provide study help for students who need it.

We recognise that everyone's needs are unique and will work with you to put the right support and resources in place so you can be successful on your course.

This can include one-to-one tutorials, exam concessions, support in-class, a transition programme, adapted materials or specialist equipment. We will ask for any information or school reports that you have about your learning needs so that a Learning Support Plan can be agreed with you.

Additional Learning Support is available to students with:

  • hearing impairments
  • visual impairments
  • physical disabilities
  • specific learning difficulties (including dyslexia and dyspraxia)
  • attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • mental health problems
  • emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • autism spectrum (e.g. Asperger's)
  • English as a second language (ESOL/EFL)

If you have any other additional learning support needs or would like to discuss your needs, please contact the College to arrange a meeting with the Additional Learning Support manager. You can call 01227 811342 or email learningsupport@canterburycollege.ac.uk
