Keiba Awards 2011
Canterbury College is once again delighted to be supporting the Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA).
This will be the third successive year that the KEiBA Awards have taken place and were created to recognise and award excellence in Kent’s businesses.
As in previous years, Canterbury College students will be contributing their Graphic Design skills to the awards. Nathan Denny from Ashford, a Second Year Graphic Design Student, has been chosen to create the official KEiBA programme for this year’s ceremony. This will form part of Nathan’s final major project for his course.
The KEiBA awards are run by Kent County Council and the KM Group and there are 14 categories this year including Large Business of the Year, Business Commitment to the Community Award and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Finalists will be invited to a celebration dinner at Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall in June.
Canterbury College is no stranger to working with the business community. Every area of the College has a business and employer agenda and operates quarterly stakeholder groups. These help to inform, shape and ensure that Canterbury College has a constant connection with the modern business world.
Mark Hill, the Director of Business Development and Associated Services at Canterbury College said: “We are delighted to be involved in one of Kent’s most prestigious business awards for a third year. As one of the area’s largest providers of Further Education and professional training we are always keen to build on our relationships with the Kent business community. These awards are an excellent opportunity for our students to gain real life experiences, working with real businesses.”
