Education and Training Award Level 3

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory teaching qualification. It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, including those not currently teaching or training and those who have just begun or are about to begin teaching or training. It would also be suitable for individuals currently working in associated roles, such as assessors or teaching support roles and those who wish to achieve a qualification providing an introduction to teaching.

What will I learn?

This course provides the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions, in a variety of teaching or training contexts. The Award gives you the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in teaching and learning and achieve a nationally recognised level 3 qualification.

How will I be assessed?

You will be asked to provide a portfolio of evidence which will be made up of a range of assessment methods such as in-class activities and submission of assignments completed as independent study. You will also complete a micro-teach activity to deliver a 15 minute session to your peers.

What may it lead to?

Learners who achieve the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training can progress to the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training providing they meet the minimum requirement of 100 teaching hours over two years.
