Tailored Group Partnership Case Study

Partner: Nacka Gymnasium (from Nacka, Sweden)

Programme: International Education

This 13 week programme is for Nacka Gymnasium students studying Social Sciences or Natural Sciences.

The programme helps students to improve their English language skills, provides a stepping stone between school and university study, and develops their employment prospects. Many students have said the International Programme improved their confidence.

Social Sciences students start in September and take classes in English, History and International Relations. Natural Sciences students start in January, taking classes in English, Maths and International Relations. All lessons are taught in English and adhere to the requirements of the Swedish Education board. The programme requires students to submit coursework and take part in a final exam.

Throughout their time here students live with a local host family, allowing them to practice their English skills and learn about UK culture.

The partnership between Canterbury College and Nacka Gymnasium has been running since 2008. If you would be interested in a similar project, please contact international@canterburycollege.ac.uk.
