Apprenticeships allow people to combine on-the-job training with study (while earning a wage). Canterbury College has one of the largest ranges of Apprenticeships in the area.
An Apprenticeship is an ideal way for a young person to kick start a career and work towards a nationally recognised qualification while being paid at the same time. They are also a way for businesses to employ and train new talent - if you are an employer, Apprenticeship programmes can be developed specifically to your needs.
Apprenticeships are available for anyone aged 16 and over. Some changes to Apprenticeships are taking place - click here to find out more.
The Apprenticeship Levy
The Apprenticeship levy is part of the government’s plan to increase the quantity and quality of Apprenticeships. The levy is a new tax which aims to fund three million new Apprenticeships in England by 2020. More information can be found on our website and the Learn Direct website.
