Welcome to the Student Diary Room
Reality TV has entered the classroom at Canterbury College following the launch of a Student Diary Room.
In February Canterbury College opened the doors of it's TV Studio to create a unique Student Diary Room where students could confide to the camera and have their views aired on YouTube.com. Visit our YouTube channel to view.
More than 100 students turned up to take part in the filming. The college used the medium to get feedback and opinions from those who attend every day.
The diary room concept has proved one of the biggest and best known components of Channel 4’s Big Brother reality tv show. In it, the housemates get to share their opinions on fellow contestants without them knowing – and, in the process, generates some of the highlights of the annual television extravaganza.
Canterbury College say they will use the diary room concept again as they look to get the feedback needed to improve their services. A College spokesman said: “This was the first time we’ve ever done anything like this, so there were a few things we would do differently, such as put the diary room in a more central position in the college, but it’s been a very successful experiment.”
The diary room proved so popular the college has plans to make it a regular feature,
with filming taking place at the end of each term or even every month.
