Get Ready for Kent Festival of Science at Canterbury College - 25/01/11

The Kent Festival of Science, the biggest festival of its kind in the South East, will be back at Canterbury College next month.

This is the 16th year the event has taken place, and over that time has attracted some 60,000 visitors.

This year, visitors to Canterbury College’s state of the art campus on New Dover Road during half term (23rd – 24th February), will be able to see a huge range of shows and demonstrations, get involved in hands-on activities and make things to takeaway.

The festival, which is suitable for all ages, will feature shows such as The Creepy Crawly Man, The Amazing Bubble Show, Rock Guitar in 11 Dimensions, The Air Show, The Magic of Science, Inferno and much more.

Interactive sessions include, The Incredible Machine, The Solar Grand Prix, The K’Nex Challenge, Can You Dig It? and Magic Materials.

The event offers a unique opportunity to experience science at a first-hand level, and have a huge amount of fun as well, Festival organiser Gareth Marshall said: “Science is a vital and vibrant part of everything we do every day. The Kent Festival of Science is a wonderful and exciting celebration of all its many facets, from insects to the stars.”

The Kent Festival of Science runs from 9.30am – 3.30pm on Wednesday 23rd February and Thursday 24th February 2011 and is expected to attract 1,500 people per day. Tickets cost £7.00. For more information and to book tickets visit www.sciencefestival.org.uk.
