College becomes first in the region to gain Investors in People - Gold
Canterbury College has joined a very exclusive group of only six Education Colleges and Universities in the entire United Kingdom which have achieved the Gold Standard for the Investors in People Award.
The Gold Standard is the very highest level of accreditation in the renowned Investors in People scheme which was launched by Michael Howard in 1991 and has become the National Industry Benchmark through which employers can demonstrate their investment in their workforce.
Of the hundreds of thousands of eligible organisations in the UK, Canterbury College is one of only 132 that have achieved the Gold Standard of this highly prestigious award.
Canterbury College had to satisfy over 165 detailed and rigorous criteria in order to achieve this great success compared to the 39 criteria which are required to meet the basic standard. This level of achievement is a direct reflection of the dynamic strategic approach that the College has to working as a team with all it’s employees and external stakeholders to achieve all of it’s shared goals and objectives. The reward reflects the energy, transparency and clarity of communication of the organisation.
Alison Clarke, Principal and Executive Director said ‘This is another outstanding achievement for all of us here at the College and is a significant step towards being the Best College in the Region.’
The Investors in People Gold Award joins an already extensive list of accolades achieved by Canterbury College in recent years and reflects their current status of being the most successful General Further Education College in Kent.
