Canterbury College Hosts Air Cadets Celebrations 07/02/11
Canterbury College has played host to celebrations marking the 70th Anniversary of the Air Training Corps in Canterbury.
Around 200 people gathered in the Main Hall at the Campus for a special anniversary inspection and celebration of the 312 (City of Canterbury) Squadron.
The evening included a drill display, music from the Air Training Corps Band and awards presentation. Among the guest at the event were the Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Canterbury College Principal Alison Clarke, founder squadron members, current cadets and College staff who are members of the reserve forces.
Representatives of the Royal British Legion were also present to thank the cadets for all their efforts in collecting for the annual poppy appeal, last year alone they managed to collect more than £2,000 for the charity.
